Be Free: A 5-Day Devotional Guide (Week 3 - The Approval of God)

Based on Galatians 1:10 and this weeks themes: freedom, identity, approval, comparison, and faithful obedience to God.

Day 1: Whose Approval Are You Seeking

Reading: Galatians 1:10; Proverbs 29:25
Paul makes a stark declaration: he is not in the business of winning human approval. He serves God alone. Proverbs 29:25 warns that fearing people is a dangerous trap, one baited with something desirable, yet designed to ensnare. Every day, subtle pressures invite us to measure our worth by the reactions of others. A comment left unacknowledged, a compliment withheld, a crowd that shifts its opinion. These things can quietly become the rulers by which we measure our value. But Gods approval is not earned through performance. It is received through faith in Jesus Christ. Today, ask yourself honestly: whose voice carries the most weight in your daily decisions?
Reflection: In what areas of your life are you most tempted to seek human approval over Gods?
Practical Application: Identify one decision you have been delaying because of fear of what others will think. Bring it before God in prayer and ask for clarity rooted in His Word rather than in the opinions of those around you.

Day 2: The Freedom Christ Purchased

Reading: Galatians 5:1; John 8:36; Romans 8:1
Galatians 5:1 declares that Christ has truly set us free and calls us to remain in that freedom rather than returning to bondage. The freedom Paul describes is not a license to live carelessly, but a liberation from the exhausting effort of trying to earn what God has already given. Romans 8:1 assures us there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ. Yet many believers live as though condemnation is their daily address. The cross settled the question of our standing before God. We do not strive upward to reach His approval; we live outward from the approval already granted. True freedom begins when we stop performing and start resting in what Christ has already accomplished.
Reflection: Do you live as someone who is truly free in Christ, or do you still carry the weight of trying to earn what has already been given?
